Ask a Question
  • Are id3 tags supported for local music play back?
What you means id3 tags? You can send e-mail to tech@arylic.com
  • Will you do an Audiophilr version of s50pro? When?

  • When will the new version of S50 pro + with AirPlay 2 come out?
the s50 pro + doesn't  support  AirPlay 2 currently , but you can get the same expression  by using our 4STREM APP
  • Does it support mqa?
           we  don't support mqa currently
  • Is bluetooth receiver only, or can I stream Aptx HD to my bluetooth wireless headphones?
    only for passive reception
  • What will be the latency for optical in to sync to other arylic multiroom devices?
the latency for optical depends on the wireless distance  and quality,in theory, you could not feel the latency
To explain for the multiroom mode of the device. There's 2 modes to create multiroom.
1, router mode, and the audio data will go through the router from master to slave, and this mode will be used only when both of the devices are connected with ethernet.
2, direct mode, the master device will create an access point, and the client device will connect directly to this AP of  master, so if the 2 devices are not close enough, it would be a problem. And this mode is used to support to connect as much clients to the master as possible. If going through the router in wireless, the network would be badly affected as 2.4G WIFI bandwidth is not good enough for the audio streaming.
  • The line output is only variabile or is fixed too? Can i set the mode fixed or variabile? Where can i download a user manual?
It is variable, you can not change it, this is customer manual :S50_Pro_manual_20201125.pdf (shopify.com)
  • Amazon music hd does it works in italy? Up to 24bit/192khz? i want to play it via ethernet for maximum quality.
Amazon music is used in north America  currently , encode is up to 192/24
  • Does this support Spotify Connect?
  • About the S50 Pro: When I stream Qobuz HiRes via an Ethernet cable, and connect the S50 Pro optical output to the optical input of my DAC; will it keep the HiRes signal bitperfect? Or will i have loss?
optical is digital signal, it doesn't has lose in theory
  • Does the S50 Pro+ support Amazon Music in Europe?
Amazon music is supported in north America  currently
  • The web page says this can be connected to "current stereo amplifiers, stereo receivers or speakers." Does this mean it can be connected directly to speakers without an amplifier in between? If so, what is the best way to connect it and what is the power rating?
The speaker means active speaker, otherwise you can only power the headphone in it output power, the best way is  to connect to active amplifiers, the power  lower than 12watts
  • We need now AptX and optical in/out in the Amp variant as new A50Pro+ please :)
Thanks for your advice ,we listen to our community a lot . It will be on the plan of 2021:)
  • Congratulations on the release of s50Pro+ ! Does this unit support GAPLESS playback ? If not, will gapless playback be supported by a future firmware update for this unit or will it be a totally different product, assuming there are plans to support gapless playback... ?
    Sorry,We don't support currently
  • is it possible to use a DAC at the output of the S50 and before the amplifier? Is it better to use the optical output or the coaxial output? what are the specs for these 2 outputs?
yes, you can use an DAC by connecting digital out .
Both optical and coaxial are digital stream ,it's almost same .
no, it is a passive device
  • Is AirPlay 2 supported or only AirPlay 1? This isn't clearly mentioned on the webpage. Asking because of multi-room support in AirPlay 2.

  • Does it have remote IP control? List of commands or API
Yes, it 's in our download page at our website.
  • What type of ES or AK chip you use ? Es9218 or Ak 4497?
    It's ES9023

  • Q1: Can you change the names on these devices? We own a club, and need several for different rooms for each instructor to use with streaming music for their class. Bluetooth, with autoconnect at the device level, is driving us nuts with different instructors music jumping to other bluetooth receivers in the building, throwing off both classes. Need to have reliable connection by some means. Q2: Can this work through wireless connectivity, and still run their streaming from their phones on the facility wifi without needing to have them use a specific app? Some of them use health club driven music playlists they have built, and they aren't on spotify, etc.
    1. yes, you can change the name via our app .
    2. our system will be very reliable if stream via LAN, wifi is also better than bluetooth .
    3. After setup ,you can use without app ,such as streaming via airplay or dlna or preset alarm music playlist .
  • Are they google home compatible to allow voice control
You can connect to our system via bluetooth ,then you can do voice control via google home .

Excellent & fantastic value

I have a full blown Naim system with a high end streamer but wanted another preferably small decent quality streamer for my Snug for late night listening through headphones....this is it! I’m very impressed! Mine connected first time and easily with Ethernet. Works perfectly with Qobuz. Via my network, it also sees and can access my music stored on SSD connected to my Naim in a different room. Using ‘line in’ also connects my CD player, the benefit of this being that it helped with the connections but also gives remote volume control when playing CDs as my headphone amp isn’t within reach. It plays high res on Qobuz with no problem but says it’s at CD quality not high res. I don’t know if that’s correct given that the stream is high res but regardless, it sounds perfectly fine, in fact it sounds great. So far it has stayed cool in use. There are some ‘wrinkles’ but that’s hardly surprising. Powering off into standby (red light on) loses the internet connection so when you power back on, it takes maybe 15 seconds before it’s all live again. It’s also only possible to properly control it via the 4STREAM app...which is OK...but power off also loses Qobuz so switching back on requires Qobuz to be physically logged back in again, it doesn’t happen automatically. The login settings are saved, you don’t have to enter those again, but you do have to navigate to Qobuz and tell the S50 to login. On my other streamers this all happens automatically. It’s also a shame that the S50 can’t be powered on/off from the app, in reality it has to be from the remote, which isn’t a massive problem but would be so much better and convenient from the app. However please don’t worry about any of those ‘cons’ because they are all minor and tweaks that I’m sure will get addressed in time. I’m delighted with this streamer...it’s easy to set up, gives very good sound quality (listening through top end Grado GS1000 headphones) and provides much more functionality than I need. All this in a small well made little box at a very good price. I’m a hifi/music enthusiast and I’m very happy with this. There are loads of streamers out there but it’s a matter of what you need. I did look at buying another Naim, and considered the well reviewed Cambridge Audio streamer and was a bit nervous buying the S50 because I was worried that it wouldn’t do what it said it would do. But it does! And that, especially considering the sensible price, is excellent! Well done Arylic!

Great hardware, software needs improvement

Firstly some context: Although my review highlights some negative aspects I’ve discovered to date (mostly software), the hardware performs well (particularly for the price), and feels reasonably well built. I purchased an S50 Pro+ to work with a Devialet Expert amp (which already natively supports AirPlay2, UPnP and Spotify connect). I’m using the coaxial digital output. I wanted a solution that directly took the 1s and 0s from my router (and in my case, Deezer) into the amp (not going via a phone/tablet/computer). I’m aware that Deezer does not currently support 24-bit. I’m arguably old school with my streaming habits. I have spent ages curating my CD and download collection into my Deezer favourites. I like to browse these to select music to listen to. The positives: 1. Set up was easy. Flawless in fact. 2. It sounds good. Good enough for most. However - I’d argue the quality is not quite as good as an AirPlay connection from iPhone/iPad direct to my amp (not something that would be an option for many other users). I was expecting an audible improvement from a dedicated piece of audiophile equipment. For most folk - I doubt this would be an issue. 3. It’s compact and seems well built. 4. The software supports Deezer Flow - which I enjoy for discovering new music. Unfortunately that’s about the best thing the software offers with regard to my needs. So some not-quite-so-positives (1 hardware, 1 firmware, mainly software/app): 1. Firmware(?). The digital outputs don’t (as of March 2021) output hi-res 24-bit. The unit can apparently encode but not output 24-bit. So this is disappointing. I have many 24 bit downloads I could use via the USB input. Amazon, Tidal, Qobuz all offer 24-bit and Arylic heavily advertise the ability to encode it. It’s only when you delve into the FAQs you see 24-bit output is not (presently at least) supported. Some of FAQ answers are misleading; Q. “When I stream Qobuz HiRes via an Ethernet cable, and connect the S50 Pro optical output to the optical input of my DAC; will it keep the HiRes signal bitperfect? Or will i have loss?” A. “optical is digital signal, it doesn't has lose in theory“. A later FAQ states A. “The digital output will be in fixed 44.1KHz/16bits”. 2. Software/app. The app functionality is disappointing (from my experience with Deezer integration). It’s pretty basic and feels dated. It feels like it’s been developed by software engineers, without input GUI/UX designers. This is even apparent in the app icon! 2a. Favourite tracks, and albums appear in a random order with no means of sorting (possibly a Deezer issue?). 2b. The search function is only top level (i.e. all of Deezer’s catalogue). It does not search from within favourites which is some what frustrating. Again, possibly a Deezer only issue? 2c. I’ve had the volume randomly change when opening or switching back to the app. It would be good to bypass the internal volume (and equaliser) settings and let my main amp handle all this. Surely something a software/firmware update option could resolve. 2d. Not all Deezer suggestions appear - “daily” playlists for example. 3. Hardware. The IR remote is “weak”. Range seems poor and requires direct line of sight. I’m used to my Roku WiFi remote which works perfectly with the Roku tucked behind the TV. I bought the Arylic S50 pro+ to not need to use an iPad or iPhone as a remote. So. As much as I want to love this little box, I am finding that a lot of the time life is better bypassing it and just using AirPlay2 direct to my Devialet. Perhaps Devialet will sort out the app/software to support more native streaming. As stated before - I’m lucky to have this additional option. For the most part, this is a great piece of hardware let down by a basic app. Hopefully the team at Arylic are working hard to make the app function and look better! Hopefully this is useful (if critical feedback). I find too much great hardware in the world is let down by half baked software, and its seen as secondary.

Affordable, great little sounding solution for a budget preamplifier. Highly recommended.

I was looking to give new life to an old Bang & Olufsen (Beosound 2300 + Beolab 8000) by adding digital streaming music. I looked around and opted to pair it with the new Arylic S50 Pro+ to modernise my vintage gear that lacks all wireless and digital functionalities. I waited to purchase the newly upgraded version of the S50 Pro, that now has a display that provides status and source input info. The unit setup is easy and straight forward and the 4Stream app is also simple but provides decent controls and integration with popular music streaming services. WiFi and Bluetooth, both works well with stable connections. The Arylic S50 Pro+ is small, with a minimal design and no physical controls. Remote control is also basic, but gets the job done, although I would have liked to get a volume knob on the front or top of the unit. It is very light, so once you attach cables it’s hard to keep it still as it moves around. My review is limited as I have not tried optical and coaxial inputs just yet, nor music stored on my NAS. Sound quality is neutral, maybe a little dry. The base is surprisingly good, although I have not tested it with an external subwoofer. Its fast, with little sound coloration, and quite detailed for the price point. Sound stage is also rather good, wide and deep, with pleasant definition. Overall experience and sound quality are not far off much more expensive products out there. Negative note, shipping times, 3-weeks to get to Italy!

Received an upgraded model - I’m happy.

Received this today. First off, I ordered the “Arylic S50 Pro?and paid $199 for it. As the photos show what arrived is a ?.. Pro+? This is quite an upgrade from what I can tell. Has a front display. Trigger outlet for turning on downstream devices, Optical in and out (which I’m using). Had a lot of trouble setting it up. Couldn’t connect to my WiFi. But eventually it did. Now operates as expected. Seems to max out at 24bit/48khz which is as high as I was expecting at this price. Very happy.

Feature packed device!

A pretty good box for the money. Good sound features for the size. App works well but Pandora is not built in. Small size so unit does not get in the way. Would recommend to others.

Great Product

I was looking at different options to add multi-room sound to include my surround system and a combination of in-ceiling speakers and outside speakers. I looked at sonos and others. I was a bit concerned with the price being as reasonable as it is that this product wouldn't work well. After a lot of research I pulled the trigger and am VERY happy with the results. I currently have 4 rooms connected and plan to add 3 more. Great product, great price.

Wonderful products excellent customer service

The Arylic product line of pre amplifiers and amplifiers are exactly what our home needed. A simple elegant solution to whole house multiroom audio. looked and compared to@many other options such as Sonos. Helos. Bluesound, Nero, etc and while each had its pros and cons the Arylic products stood out fir the balance of value versus features. I didn’t like the idea or cost of propriety systems so that ruled a few out. Cost was a factor and after doing the research the Arylic value stood out. So I picked up a few S50s for my higher end rooms, the S30 for garage, deck and patio where pure sound quality is less important to me and a few A 50 for where I wanted the combo and didn’t have a decorated amp i.e.. bedroom, tv room. For me the sound is warm rich and detailed .I run my main listening room S50 out to an SMSL MK 300 DAC via optical out and that combo along with my older warmer Cambridge Soundworks speakers is perfect. Yes as some reviewers mention it is not an audiophile preamp. Would be nice if Arylic had the option of premium higher end line products I have had zero issues easy setup and flawless integration. The app glitches out rarely no biggie. It will get better Thank you Arylic

Very good sound quality for the money!

This is the second Arylic device for me. I've been using and really liking my A50 amp. Thought I would try out the S50 Pro for its higher quality DAC. I typically stream Spotify or high bit rate MP3's and FLAC files through a vintage integrated amplifier. I could not be happier. FLAC file played through the S50 Pro are amazing! I highly recommend this product. Don't think you could find better performance at a lower price!

Arrived in Hungary from the Czech Republic within a week, a small painting damage on the top corner of the metal box. Software problem with app operation, can't group two arylic devices because the s50 pro pushes a reset! Hope this is not a unique problem and will be fixed soon! The sound quality when listening to optics is average, it is not an audiophile, high-end device! I replaced an old Pioneer n-50 with this, obviously there is a better DAC in it.

Great value!

This preamplifier has extremely good sound quality from online streams and port throughs from it’s lines in. Stays cool because of it’s compact metal housing. Uses a included micro-USB cable for power.
