H50 Wireless Stereo Amplifier

I had an old pair of B&W DM602 S3 speakers knocking around and nothing to light them up. After poking around the internet for the cheapest way to give them Airplay, I settled on this little box.

I got the 32v version for no particular reason and, coupled with some acceptable Canare cables, now have really pleasant sound in my office… all burbling through the air courtesy of Apple Music.

With only 50 watts at 8 Ohm, you’re not going to shake any fillings loose, but the music gets plenty loud for a small room - and the quality of the sound stays solid all the way up. The amp doesn’t get too warm, even after hours of play. Between my computer and the phone app, everything that needs controlling is manageable. Software upgrades (2x in three days…) are handled via the app and are simple enough.

Fit and finish are very tidy and solid. The binding posts on the back are small, but seem willing to accept standard bananas. The crowns will fully unscrew and roll away, so pay attention when wiring. Also, flip the Ohm switch to your speakers liking. Easy to miss.

All told, this is a pleasure of an amp. My household audio is a few steps up in cost and listening pleasure with McIntosh gear driving Paradigm S8’s over rather more precious wires. AND that's exactly what makes this so special: for a tiny fraction of the cost, this little box has my office humming and is putting a smile on my face. That’s good value.

Just what I needed. A compact and feature rich amp. Only two downsides are that I would be a bit happier with at least 50W per channel, and Deezer is not working in network mode, so I have to use bluetooth.

Rigth now I am using and old speaker system till I can go to a new couple ones, but so impressive the audio I am getting

I see this amp as great for individuals/families starting their first homes, an easy all-in-one just add speakers solution. It’s a good start for listening to music but a pity that there is no amplifier out as an upgrade path. When used in eARC mode, that's where the H50 performed really well. Normal TV viewing was great with voices locked on the center. Movie viewing was also good, though it can't compare to a proper AV amp. Thumbs up for TV/Movie, not so good for music. The amp sounds a bit "closed" with the soundstage falling just between the speakers. The depth of the soundstage was shallow and not high. Instrument placement was all right but the overall sound, sometimes typical of class D amps, was lean and sterile. Bass extension was not low enough while the treble was a bit light. It wasn’t a fatiguing listen but for serious listening, this won’t be my go to amp.

H50, I am pleased I purchased this wireless amp.
I connected it with my Optimus lab 1100 turntable, low fuzz from phono to be sorted. Connects bt to audio receiver then old bt tech Bose soundlink revolve +11 speakers. The 4stream app is great when playing music from usb thumb drive, shows the track song title. It appears to receive wifi only? if so Perhaps future enable wifi transmit as well.
