Is the 50W x 2 power output enough? Can it drive my speakers?
The LA50 outputs 50W x 2 at 4Ω and about 30W x 2 at 8Ω, which is enough to drive the vast majority of bookshelf speakers and small-to-medium floor-standing speakers on the market, and speakers with a sensitivity of around 83-85dB are completely fine.
Speakers with nominal impedances of 4Ω and 8Ω can both be connected directly, but it is not recommended to mix speakers of different impedances on the same unit.
Can I connect it to a TV? How do HDMI ARC/eARC work?
Yes, the LA50 comes with an HDMI ARC input and supports CEC. Once connected to a TV, you can directly use the TV remote to control volume and power without needing an extra remote.
It is compatible with mainstream TV brands (Sony, LG, Samsung, Philips, etc.) as long as the TV itself supports ARC/eARC. Connecting an active subwoofer to the Sub Out allows you to upgrade to a 2.1 home theater setup.
Can it be used with my Apple / Google / Sonos smart speakers?
Yes. The LA50 supports AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, allowing it to be grouped together for synchronized playback with HomePods, Nest speakers, and AirPlay 2-supported Sonos speakers directly inside the Apple "Home" App or Google Home App.
However, "exclusive accessories" like the Sonos Sub or Sonos wireless surround speakers can only connect to Sonos's own speakers/soundbars and cannot be connected to the LA50—if you need a subwoofer, just use an active subwoofer connected to the LA50's built-in Sub Out.
If I want whole-home multi-room audio, how many units do I need to buy?
Each LA50 is an independent zone (a pair of left and right channel speakers; within the same zone, a second pair of speakers can be connected in parallel to expand coverage, but cannot be controlled independently).
If you want several rooms to play independently, buy multiple units, and then use AirPlay 2 / Google Cast to group them together for synchronized playback or separate them to play individually.
What music platforms are supported? What about lossless/high-resolution audio?
It has built-in Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect, with Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect supporting lossless high-resolution audio (including Spotify's supported lossless quality). Tidal and Qobuz also support up to 24bit/192kHz high-resolution audio.
Platforms without independent entry points like Amazon Music and YouTube Music can be cast via AirPlay 2 or Google Cast from your mobile device.
What App is used for control? What is its relationship with the older 4STREAM?
The LA50 uses Arylic's latest GO CONTROL App (iOS/Android) to set up devices, switch inputs, adjust EQ, view firmware updates, etc., serving as the successor to 4STREAM.
If you are still using the 4STREAM App on older devices, it is recommended to switch to GO CONTROL as soon as possible to get the latest features and firmware support.
How should I choose between LA50, H50, and A50+?
All three are streaming amplifiers from Arylic, with core differences in ecosystem and power.
The LA50 features AirPlay 2 + Google Cast + Qobuz Connect, making it ideal for Apple/Google ecosystem users and a great fit for upgrading TV audio.
The H50 supports Alexa voice control, direct Bluetooth headphone output (which the LA50 does not support), an optional 32V power supply to boost power to 8Ω, and an OLED display, making it suitable for vinyl lovers and scenarios requiring higher power.
The A50+ is the entry-level model (AirPlay 1, no HDMI ARC), which you can choose if budget is your priority.
In short: Apple/Google ecosystem + want to connect to a TV> LA50; use Alexa, play vinyl, need to connect Bluetooth headphones>H50.
Can the subwoofer crossover frequency be adjusted?
Yes, the Sub Out default crossover frequency is around 250Hz, and specific values and bass effects can be custom-adjusted in the GO CONTROL App's EQ/bass settings, allowing you to fine-tune it to match your room and subwoofer characteristics.
