No Sound from HDMI ARC / eARC Input
This guide helps you fix no sound issues when using HDMI ARC or eARC input on your Arylic device connected to a TV.
Before You Start
- Make sure the Arylic device and TV are both powered on.
- Use a high-quality HDMI cable (eARC requires HDMI 2.1 cable).
- Confirm the HDMI cable is connected to the TV’s ARC / eARC labeled HDMI port.
Step 1: Confirm TV HDMI ARC / eARC Settings
1. Open your TV Audio Settings.
2. Set Audio Output to HDMI ARC or eARC.
3. Turn on CEC (may be called Anynet+, Simplink, Bravia Sync, VIERA Link, etc.).
ARC/eARC will not work unless CEC is enabled on most TVs.
Step 2: Check TV Audio Format Compatibility
-
Set Digital Audio Output Format to PCM.
-
Disable Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Atmos, or DTS for testing.
Unsupported audio formats will result in no sound.
Step 3: Verify Arylic Input Source
1. Open the Arylic App (4STREAM or Go Control App).
2. Select HDMI ARC / eARC as the input source.
3. Make sure the device is not muted and volume is above minimum.
Step 4: Power Reset the HDMI Connection
1. Power off the TV and Arylic device.
2. Unplug the HDMI cable from both ends.
3. Wait 30 seconds, reconnect the cable, then power on the TV first.
4. Power on the Arylic device last.
This resets the HDMI handshake and CEC communication.
Step 5: Test with Another HDMI Cable or TV Port
-
Try a different HDMI cable (especially for eARC).
-
Confirm the TV port supports ARC/eARC—not all HDMI ports do.
-
Test with another TV if available.
- Test with optical input to check if the problem is related to HDMI ARC/eARC input.
Notes
- ARC and eARC only work through the TV’s ARC/eARC port.
- eARC offers higher bandwidth and better format support than ARC.
- Some TVs automatically disable internal speakers when ARC is active.
- Firmware updates on TV or Arylic device may affect ARC behavior.
Troubleshooting Tips
1. Disable all audio processing features on the TV (surround, virtual sound).
2. Update the TV and Arylic device firmware to the latest version.
3. Avoid HDMI switches or splitters between TV and Arylic device.
4. If no sound persists, test with optical output as a temporary workaround.
