No Sound from Optical Input (TOSLINK)

This guide helps you troubleshoot no sound issues when using the optical (TOSLINK) input on your Arylic device.

Before You Start

- Make sure your Arylic device is powered on and the correct optical input source is selected.

- Confirm the optical cable is securely connected on both ends.

- Make sure the source device (TV, CD player, game console) is powered on and playing audio.

Step 1: Check the Optical Cable and Connection

1. Remove and reinsert the optical cable to ensure a proper connection.

2. Make sure the optical cable is not bent, damaged, or blocked by dust.

Step 2: Check Audio Output Settings on the Source Device

Most TVs and media devices do not output compatible audio formats by default.

1. Open the audio settings on your TV or source device.

2. Set Digital Audio Output to PCM.

3. Disable Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, or Auto modes.

*Arylic optical input supports PCM audio only.

Step 3: Confirm the Correct Input Source on Arylic

1. Open the Go Control App or use the physical control.

2. Make sure Optical / SPDIF input mode is selected.

3. Increase the volume to 60% confirm the device is not muted.

Step 4: Test with Another Source or Cable

1. Try a different optical source device if available.

2. Test with a different optical cable to rule out cable issues.

3. Connect the same source using AUX or HDMI ARC to verify audio output is working.

Common TV Audio Setting Examples

Samsung TV: Digital Output Audio Format → PCM

LG TV: Sound Out → Optical → Digital Sound Output → PCM

Sony TV: Digital Audio Out → PCM

Panasonic TV: Digital Audio Output → PCM

Notes

- Optical input does not support volume control from the TV remote.

- Optical input does not support Dolby or DTS decoding.

- Some TVs mute optical output when internal speakers are selected—check your TV audio menu.

Troubleshooting Tips

1. Power off the TV and Arylic device, unplug them for 30 seconds, then power on again.

2. Make sure no other input source is overriding the optical input.

3. If there is still no sound, contact Arylic support with your device model and source device details.
